Enhanced Problem Solving Skills When Working With Anti-Social Adolescent Firesetters is the first in a series of four, different training days taking place across the UK in 2015-16. All four days focus on the key social, cognitive and behavioural skills adolescents need to address their anti-social behaviour, including firesetting. Delegates can book all four training events or attend individual days as stand-alone courses.

The September training day focuses specifically on problem solving.

Teaching problem solving skills is a technique widely used by staff who engage with anti-social young people and most interventions include a variation of the process. This training day approaches problem solving in more depth and enables delegates to take away practical ideas that can be used immediately with adolescents who set fires.

Exploring the fundamental areas of problem definition, barriers to effective problem solving, problem solving multi-tasking, alternatives and implementation, delegates will leave with increased knowledge and skills in this key area, along with hand-outs for use in client practice.

The training is aimed at all professionals experienced in working with children and adolescents who set fires.

The training day runs from 0930hrs to 1630hrs (with registration from 0900hrs) and costs £145 per delegate, including refreshments, lunch and all accompanying hand-outs. Early booking is advised as numbers are strictly limited to 20 delegates to ensure all group work is as lively, interactive and inclusive as possible.
