fabtic is pleased to confirm that Company Director Joanna Foster will be presenting at the November 2013 meeting of the CFOA Firesetters Group (Eastern region).

Joanna will be presenting The Case of “Josie”, a Child at Risk of Significant Harm, the topic she delivered to delegates at an International Safety Education Conference in Helsinki earlier this year.  The presentation explores Joanna’s direct work over a twelve-month period to directly address one child’s firesetting   behaviour. Joanna will discuss the motives behind Josie’s firesetting, the practical strategies used to address the behaviour and the importance of multi-agency working to ensure the short and long-term safety of Josie, due to the severe neglect she suffered at home.

Joanna is proud to be presenting at the CFOA Firesetters Group, which brings together youth engagement managers and staff from the London Fire Brigade, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service (FRS), Cambridgeshire FRS, Luton and Bedfordshire FRS, Essex FRS, Suffolk FRS and Hertfordshire FRS. The group meets quarterly to discuss best practice and policy when working with children with firesetting behaviour and features guest speakers on related topics of child protection, safeguarding, information sharing and learning disabled children.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 26 November 2013 at the London Fire Brigade Headquarters.
